The Musical Mosaic Symphony laser cutting project is a wall artwork.

Suitable as a gift for all ages.

The project uses acrylic or MDF or plywood.

It is an a challenging project, and I estimate the project can be completed in 6 hours for MDF, 5.25 hours for plywood or 4.75 hours for acrylic. However, your completion time will depend on the laser cutter, the dimensions of the project and your skill level. If you think my time estimates need adjustment, please feel free to let me know via a comment below.

Instructions

    1. Prepare the Materials
       - MDF: Prepare MDF by painting it with a white undercoat and selecting paint colours to finish after the laser cutting.
       - Plywood: Choose stains or dyes to be applied after laser cutting to enhance the natural wood texture.

    2. Prepare the Design File
       - Download the design file from the source link provided on the project page.
       - Unzip the file to access the design.
       - Load the design into your laser cutting software.

    3. Set Up the Laser Cutter
       - Adjust the design size to fit your chosen material dimensions.
       - Set the appropriate laser parameters:
         - Cut: Specify power and speed for clean cuts.
       - For the material-specific settings, refer to your laser cutter’s guidelines.

    4. Use the Laser Cutter
       - Place your material on the laser bed.
       - Run the cutting process for all required layers.
       - Ensure that the layers align correctly as they are cut.

    5. Following Laser Cutting
       - For MDF: Wipe smoke marks away with a slightly damp rag. Paint the layers with your chosen colours. Spray paint is preferable to canned paint.
       - For Plywood: Wipe smoke marks away with a slightly damp rag. Apply the wood stain or dye.

    6. Assemble the Layers
       - Align the layers carefully to ensure proper alignment of the design.
       - Use appropriate adhesives:
         - Wood Glue for MDF or plywood.
       - Use clamps to secure the layers while the adhesive dries.
       - For MDF and plywood, use a gloss spray to enhance and protect the artwork.

    7. Prepare for Wall Mounting
        - As the artwork is heavy, take it to a professional service and get advice about how to place it on your wall. Alternatively, place it on a shelf where it will lean against a wall.
